The story
Jermaine made 341 league appearances and earned 21 England caps, playing for Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Queens Park Rangers and returning to Forest on loan.
His broadcast career began with ITV Sport’s Europa League coverage in 2014–15 before work with BT Sport, BBC football coverage including Match of the Day, TNT Sports and talkSPORT. He returned to talkSPORT commentary in 2025.
He also co-hosts Wildcards with Jermaine Pennant, a football podcast available on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
Beyond football broadcasting, Jermaine appeared on Channel 4’s Time Crashers in 2015 and has fronted programmes including BBC Three’s Teenage Knife Wars, Channel 4’s The Truth About Police Stop and Search, Hunting The Football Trolls and The World’s Most Expensive Trainers.
His wider television credits include Match of the Day, Match of the Day 2, MOTDx, The One Show (co-host from 2020; regular host from 2021), BBC Radio 5 Live, TNT Sports’ Formula E coverage and hosting the FIFA World Cup draw in 2022.
